PRE-SCREENED PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM

Licensing
We confirm at the time a vendor advertises in The Home Pros Magazine, that the company has all applicable required state-level trade licensing. We recommend confirming these licensing requirements with the business and the applicable state and local licensing authorities. In some states, licensing may be required by the county or local authority in which the work is being performed. We recommend the home owner confirm these licensing requirements before proceeding with a project. Larger projects often require the use of sub-contractors for specific types of work. For example, a kitchen remodel may also require an electrician or plumber. We recommend the home owner verify that all the sub-contractors doing work on a project carry the appropriate licensing. Given the unique nature of California licensing, we rely on representations of vendors that are using a California general building contracting license to cover home improvement tasks, that such vendors are performing tasks as defined and required by California licensing rules. We always recommend that in addition to our efforts, home owners ask the business to provide a copy of their license.

Insurance
Where relevant, we confirm general liability and third party insurance coverage information presented by the advertiser at the time of their advertising in The home Pros Magazine. We confirm such coverage via the advertisers insurance agent. We do not confirm general liability coverage for certain categories of advertisers where such coverage is deemed not relevant, including but not limited to: Inspectors; Appraisers; Architects; Engineers; Consultants; Home Maintenance Services; Designers; Pre-Manufactured Cabinet Makers; Organizers; Permit Services; Disability Planners; Alarm System Monitors; Toxic Materials; Toxic Material Testing; Carpet and Fabric Cleaning, dyeing and protection; Rental Services; Appliance installation and repair; Fence installation and repair; Stone & Tile installation and repair; Plaster & Drywall work; Photographers; Caterers.

Bonded
For business types that require business to be bonded - we confirm that the advertiser is bonded in the state in which it is located. This check applies to advertisers that are corporations and Limited Liability Companies (LLC's).

Consumer and trade references. We will ask for and check upon two recent (within the past 6 months) references from other business (trade reference); as well as, from consumers where a project has recently been completed (consumer reference).

Complaints
We check with the state license board for any consumer complaints that have been lodged.

BBB
We check the Better Business Bureau to verify rating.

NOTE:
Advertisers information confirmed at the time of advertising in The Home Pros Magazine as described above may change or expire over time; while we attempt to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, and confirm changes when notified, we perform screening solely at the time the advertiser applies for inclusion in The Home Pros Magazine; therefore, we cannot guarantee that profile and screening information is accurate. We recommend that before working with a advertiser, the home owner verify that the information is still current and/or acceptable to the home owner.

Corporate Accounts
Some advertisers are employees, franchisees, dealers, or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or corporate accounts ("Corporate Accounts"). In such event, you may be matched with the Corporate Account entity or with one of their Corporate SP's. The above screening criteria are not applicable to Corporate Accounts; therefore, we do not screen the Corporate Accounts or Corporate SP's, but rather rely on the screening performed by the Corporate Account. If the home owner has any questions about what screening the Corporate Account performs on its Corporate SP's, they should contact the Corporate Account directly.

The above procedures may change from time to time in our sole discretion. We believe that we use commercially reasonable methods to check these matters but we do not make any representations or warranties that the advertisers are appropriately licensed, free of significant state-level civil legal judgments, or carry appropriate general liability insurance or bonding at the time of advertising in The Home Pros Magazine, during the period they are advertisers, or thereafter. As circumstances can change daily, we advise the home owner to check these matters for themselves especially at future dates. We do not represent or warrant that the information received from state or other government agencies or from 3rd-party sources is accurate, error free, or that it is up to date or updated at the time that we check such information. Most agencies have periodic update cycles or schedules and this information is not updated on a real-time basis by such agencies and 3rd-party sources.
